Applications are invited from highly motivated candidates for a position of Postdoctoral Research Associate on an exciting and major new programme of research on psychotic disorders (INTREPID II) in three countries: India, Nigeria, and Trinidad. The successful candidate will join an active research group in Society and Mental Health, based in the Health Services and Population Research Department. 

INTREPID II is a major new 5 year programme funded by the MRC. The programme comprises four interconnected studies, the primary objectives of which are to describe and compare between and within sites the following aspects of psychotic disorders: (1) incidence and presentation; (2) 2 year course and outcome; (3) help-seeking by and impacts on individuals and families; and (4) the co-occurrence of physical health problems.

The post holder will be based in the coordinating centre (Institute of Psychiatry, London) and will be responsible for a) overall coordination of the programme, b) supporting and liaising with each centre to ensure planned activities are conducted in line with the programme timetable, and c) contributing to collating and analysing material and data generated by the programme. Travel to the sites in each of the countries will be required.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant subject, have experience of working on large scale projects and of working with those with a serious mental disorder, excellent data management skills, good knowledge of statistics, very strong organisational skills, and an excellent ability to work in teams and liaise with other professionals and academics.
