About Sangath: Sangath (www.sangath.in) is a not-for-profit research organization that works on improving mental health across the lifespan. Our core areas include child development, adolescent and youth health, and adult health and chronic disease and our work includes the development and delivery of affordable and effective mental health interventions delivered through nonspecialist workers.

About the project: PRIDE is a five-year research program seeking to develop psychosocial interventions for school-going adolescents with mental health problems in India. The project is implemented by Sangath in collaboration with Harvard Medical School, USA (Principal investigator: Prof. Vikram Patel) and other international partners, and is funded by the Wellcome Trust (UK). The project is now in its third year, involving the completion of formative research studies leading to a series of randomized controlled trials. The first of these trials is currently underway and we will mount two further trials in 2019 across sites in Goa and New Delhi.

Essential criteria (for appointment as Research Coordinator): 1. Masters in public health/mental health/psychology/social work 2. At least 3 years’ experience of conducting applied health research 3. Experience of supervising field staff on applied health research projects 4. Willingness to travel between project sites

Essential criteria (for appointment as Research Director): 1. PhD in public health/mental health/psychology/social work 2. At least 5 years of experience of conducting applied mental health research 3. Experience of recruiting, supervising and training field staff on applied health research projects 4. Track record of authoring peer-reviewed publications 5. Willingness to travel between project sites

Desirable criteria: 1. Experience of working with adolescents 2. Experience of working in schools 3. Experience working on digital health projects 4. Fluency in Konkani/Marathi/Hindi 5. Experience of leading a team, project management and overseeing or managing budgets

Job responsibilities for Research Coordinator: 1. Coordinate the implementation of the research components and monitor the quality of research and digital development activities. This includes data collection and analysis at the respective research sites in Goa/Delhi. 2. Ensure compliance with all research protocols. 3. Coordinate the functioning of the research team staff in the respective research sites in Goa/Delhi. 4. Design data collection tools and standard operating procedures. 5. Conduct training for research staff to undertake quantitative and qualitative data collection. 6. Ensure confidentiality of data and secure data transfer to Data Manager. 7. Contribute to drafting IRB ethics applications, research progress updates, scientific reports, and research papers for publication. 8. Participate in joint project activities, including project meetings, academic activities in coordination with the intervention and the data team. 9. Report to members of the PRIDE Senior Management Team and provide regular feedback on all activities. 10. Maintain regular coordination and communication with the other team leads and all team members of the project. 11. Contribute to other project-related or Sangath duties as assigned by your supervisor or PI.
