MHIN is jointly led by the Centre for Global Mental Health (CGMH) at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Department for Mental Health and Substance Abuse. Our work was originally founded by Grand Challenges Canada.

Knowledge Synthesis: Supporting research and practice communities
CGMH is the world's leading multi-disciplinary centre for research, capacity building and impact evaluation in global mental health.
Knowledge Exchange: Supporting policy translation
WHO is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters as the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system , through its formal relationship to Ministries of Health in Member States , collaborating centres and health partners provides a powerful vehicle for knowledge translation, policy dialogue and health system strengthening
