First Ever African Union Taskforce on NCDS, injuries and mental health
“NCDs, Injuries and mental health constitute serious impediment to achieving the vision of the “Agenda 2063” to build an integrated, prosperous, and peaceful Africa driven by its own citizens. The damage and development threat created by these conditions lights up the urgency to significantly increase attention to their prevention and control across Africa. Therefore, a multisectoral approach is timely for the African Union and Africa CDC to address the socio-economic determinants and risk factors to prevent and control NCDs, injuries and promote mental health on the continent. The newly launched AU Multisectoral Taskforce will lead and coordinate action across sectors at the AU Commission and deliver technical guidance to Member States on prioritized policy areas in line with Africa CDC continental strategy.”
