BasicNeeds-Ghana’s mission is “to develop and implement initiatives that directly involve people with mental illness or epilepsy, their families and communities, and other organisations to enhance self-determination and influence public opinion and decision-making on mental health and development”.

Summary of relevant work: 

Since its establishment in 2002 to date (June, 2015), BasicNeeds-Ghana has ensured that more than 26,000 people with mental illness and epilepsy in some 95 districts in 7 regions of Ghana have benefitted from mental health services within the proximity of their communities.
