Mission statement
Established in 1903 as the first mental health facility in Nigeria, the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Calabar (FNPH Calabar) has provided high quality comprehensive psychiatric services in Cross River state and her environs for over a century. The hospital currently has over 15,000 registered patients, with new patients being added to this number daily. Our patients are drawn from Cross River, Akwa-Ibom, Ebonyi, Abia, Imo, Rivers, and Bayelsa states and the neighboring Cameroon republic.
