Our mission is to improve mental health of orphans and vulnerable children in Cameroon through counseling and psychotherapy. We also carry out drug abuse prevention and treatment programs for orphans and vulnerable children.

Summary of relevant work

Our major works includes psychotherapy for traumatized orphans in war villages and refugee camps: This project heals children suffering from anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and mild depression. Techniques use to execute project is cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy, expressive arts therapy and psychodrama. The major psychological screening tools are the Spence anxiety scale for children, the trauma symptom checklist and the multiscore depression inventory for children.

 Psychological empowerment of ex-convict: This is through counseling and follow-up skills training in problem solving, decision making, life planning and career counseling.  Psychological empowerment of sexual violence sufferers: Trauma counseling for teenage girls who have suffered from sexual violence and teenage pregnancy. Here, individual and group therapy as well as SAC trauma therapy approaches.

Drug abuse education programs: This program educate youths in schools on psychoactive substances and its adverse effects on mental health, social life and academic performance. This program targets youths of ages 12 to 18 both boys and girls as well as involve caregivers and teachers in information programs. Techniques here are motivational interviewing, multi-dimensional therapy and booster programs like sport to enhance participation.
