Mission statement

The university’s mission is to equip students with professional skills that meet the needs of the labor market, empowering graduates to succeed nationally, regionally, and internationally through an enabling environment that stimulates learning, creativity, and cultural diversity. The university is also committed to prioritizing scientific research and development as well as innovation in order to contribute to important scientific achievements in the international arena and to create successful international partnerships.

JUST works with associations, universities, and other academic and scientific institutions around the world to provide researchers, staff and students with opportunities for international collaboration and active involvement in multidisciplinary projects at regional and global levels.

Summary of relevant work

The university’s Community and Mental Health Department offers courses in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Community Health where students spend two weeks at the beginning of clinical courses to complete orientation and preparatory work necessary for clinical training in the assigned areas. After spending the first two weeks in faculty labs, students continue clinical training through work in schools, primary health centers, and home visits in Irbid city and surrounding areas as well as at the National Mental Health Center in Amman and the Princess Basma, King Abdullah Teaching Hospital.
