A community of practice in mental health provision working as a part of Catalyst 2030. The Mental Health Collaboration has three objectives 1) to share best practice, 2) to advocate on behalf of mental health organisations in favour of the Sustainable Development Goals 3) to secure funding and resources for mental health.
In order to promote the work of the 50+ member organisations of the Mental Health Collaboration of Catalyst 2030. We convene the members every month to discuss best practice. These convenings often take the shape of a webinar. Later in the year we are publishing four articles with Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) and will be holding webinars on each of the topics involved - mental health and the workplace, mental health and climate change, mental health and gender, and mental health and violence. Currently we are in discussions with a network of funders who have an interest in the field of mental health.
One of the consequences of this regular meeting amongst a relevantly large group of organisations working in mental health in many locations is that a tremendous amount of sharing occurs both of networks and practice. The Mental Health Collaboration is very much part of the overall goal of Catalyst 2030, demonstrating the power and effectiveness of social entrepreneurs in achieving the SDGs. To this end, we particularly focus on goal 3 of the SDGs (Good Health and Wellbeing). Because mental health is such a cross cutting issue, in point of fact we find ourselves in the forefront of working for a number of the SDGs, for example gender equality (goal 5), decent work and economic growth (goal 8), reduced inequalities (goal 10) and climate action (goal 13).
