Mission
The NCHS seeks to expand its vision to improve the quality of health services it provides, build capacity of its staff to apply QI methods to their work in a sustainable manner, and be an innovator in health services delivery.
National Catholic Health Service (NCHS) is an independent, not-for-profit healthcare provider operated by the Catholic Church in Ghana. The service operates on the principles of “subsidiary” and solidarity, autonomy and interdependency in its organizational and management arrangements. Through a network of 34 secondary level hospitals and 68 primary health care clinics, organized in 20 Catholic Dioceses, the NCHS system serves over 27% of the population (nearly 7 million people) in health care facilities spread throughout the country and located in primarily rural and deprived communities. The NCHS is closely integrated with the Ghanaian Ministry of Health , provides services as part of national disease control programs, and is accredited for third party payment through the new National Health Insurance Scheme. The NCHS seeks to expand its vision to improve the quality of health services it provides, build capacity of its staff to apply QI methods to their work in a sustainable manner, and be an innovator in health services delivery.
