Preventing and treating depression in women and girls worldwide

Community on Women and NCDs held a webinar shortly after World Mental Health Day on 10 October, 2019. This webinar presents the case for increased services for women and girls affected by depression, explaining the impact of depression on women and girls, opportunities for prevention and the importance of treatment as well as gendered approaches to screening and challenges of treating depression in cultural contexts where depression is not recognised as a disease. Finally to also understand where more research is needed in order to improve the evidence-base for cost-effective prevention and treatment strategies.
