My name is Corné Wentzel, and I provide counselling to adults (individuals and couples) in Johannesburg, South Africa. I work in both English and Afrikaans. My therapeutic work is primarily based on the psychodynamic perspective, as I have found this to bring the most benefit to my clients in terms of increased self awareness and the ability to make sustainable changes in their lives.
I also have an interest in mindfulness meditation, and provide introductions to this on a one-on-one basis. This introduction is of a secular nature, and includes elements from the teachings of Jon Kabat-Zinn and Rob Nairn.
My practice is based in Parktown North, Johannesburg. This is convenient for people based in Randburg, Sandton, Rosebank, Killarney, Linden and the Parks.
As Psychological Counsellor, I am registered with the HPCSA, and have an Honours degree in Psychology (cum laude) from the University of Johannesburg.
I also provide business coaching to entrepreneurs for Aurik Business Incubator, EAP counselling services to corporate employees, and counselling to the community at the Family Life Centre (FAMSA).
In addition to my psychotherapy and counselling experience, I have extensive corporate work experience in implementing large scale change projects. Over the years, my focus gradually changed from mostly technical, to where I am now as a counsellor, enabling change in people.
My other qualifications include a BSc (Computer Science) from UJ, and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the UCT Graduate School of Business.
