Brief Biography: 

Peruvian medical doctor and master of Science in epidemiological Research. Elaine is currently a PhD candidate in epidemiology and population health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM, UK), where she is a member of the Center for Global Mental Health and the Center for Health in Humanitarian Crises. She is also affiliated with EMERGE - the research unit on Emerging Diseases and Climate Change (UPCH) and CECLIMBE - the Center of research for epidemiology and clinical practice, and is a Core member of PLASMA, the Social Research Platform on Mental Health in Latin America. She has been a professor of biostatistics and research (FMH-USMP), and has years of international experience in clinical research operations, quality control and research management. Her areas of interest include: Mental health, poverty, inequalities, vulnerable populations, social capital, environmental disasters and humanitarian and social crises.
