Brief Biography: 

Gail Womersley has recently joined the University of Neuchâtel as a doctoral assistant. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the question of PTSD among refugee victims of torture in Athens, Greece. Before joining the university, she worked with Médecins Sans Frontières as a clinical psychologist in projects assisting refugee and internally displaced populations in South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Ukraine, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo. She has also worked with other non-governmental organizations in Israel and the United Kingdom, as well as for the Department of Health and the Department of Defense in South Africa. She is particularly interested in cross-cultural manifestations of trauma and its implications for legal and social policy as well as clinical practice.
