I am Managing Director of the Gede Foundation (Nigeria) which aims to deliver generational change working with those who suffer from underserved and stigmatised health burdens so that their conditions come ‘out of the shadows’ through high quality research, catalytic partnerships and advocacy initiatives which result in positive change at the community level. The Foundation’s current focus is on, (i) establishing the prevalence of common mental disorders in PLHIV, (ii) working with Government to integrate mental health into HIV-AIDS care and support, (iii) working with international and national partners to develop culturally validated (ie for use in Nigeria) mental health screening tools, and, (iv) providing mental health service delivery at the community level (including for IDPs)
