Brief Biography: 

A Syrian psychiatrist with 13 years of work in the field of MHPSS. I have studied and worked in Syria before moving to Europe in 2017. Currently, I am conducting a PhD research as part of CONTEXT, an EU funded project in psychotraumatology, at Trinity Centre for Global Health, Trinity College Dublin, and seconded to the IFRC PS Centre in Copenhagen as part of investigating how organisational support influences the mental health of humanitarian volunteers. Previously, I worked as the Psychosocial Support Coordinator for the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (2015-2017) besides my clinical work. I also worked as an MHPSS trainer and consultant with several humanitarian organisations. I have a particular interest in humanitarian workers mental health, child mental health, preventive psychiatry, and mental health in emergencies; and further has eight years of volunteering experience.
