Brief Biography: 

Based in Pakistan, I have worked as a research associate on a community-based mental health project that used mhealth technology to screen and monitor treatment outcomes for depression and anxiety within urban populations in Karachi (Pakistan). As part of the same project I was also involved in integrating mental health services with the treatment of co-morbid chronic conditions (such as Tuberculosis and Diabetes) in Karachi’s public healthcare settings. 

After completing my MSc in Global Mental Health ('17) I worked as Knowledge Exchange Officer and Platform Coordinator at the Mental Health Innovation Network (MHIN) where I was responsible for coordinating the multiple functions of the Network including (but not limited to) the development and commissioning of web content, knowledge exchange products and providing ongoing support to MHIN's regional hubs. 

I am currently a Program Manager at the Interactive Research and Development Global on the NIHR-funded research project 'PIECEs'. The project seeks to adapt, implement and evaluate the DIALOG+ approach. This approach aims to improve quality of life, mental health, social and treatment outcomes for people with psychosis in Pakistan and India.

My interests lie in implementation research, women's mental health, strengthening co-production, knowledge exchange and mhealth technologies within mental health programming.

Les services peuvent s’adresser aux personnes touchées par la pandémie ou aux personnes souffrant de troubles préexistants de santé mentale, ou encore à des handicapés psychosociaux.

Call for stories (closed): We want to hear your experiences with delivering mental health support during the COVID-19 pandemic

The Mental Health Innovation Network, in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health and Substance Use at the World Health Organization, is calling for submission of global experiences of mental health and social care providers involved in mental health support to people during the COVID-19 outbreak either people affected by the outbreak or people with pre-existing mental health conditions or psychosocial disabilities.
