Brief Biography: 

Ottorino Bonvini MD,MDiv, MA.
He has a degree in medicine by Universitá Degli Studi de Milano, in Italy and in Theology by CTU, Chicago (USA). He is also especialized in Family and Community Therapy by Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC). He has a master in Systemic Theology by CTU, Chicago (USA). He is Coordinator of Bom Jardim Education Sector in Community Therapy (Polo Formador) and President of Movimento de Saúde Mental Comunitária do Bom Jardim (MSMC). He has been a Professor of Psychiatry, Family Therapy and Mental Health at UFC (Federal University) and UECE (State University). He has a specialization degree in Music Therapy (Graduale) and in Family Constellation (Cesp).

He is a Comboni Missionary and is working in the outskirt of Fortaleza, Ceará, Brazil,  in the favelas of the Bom Jardim since 1996. He is the founder of the MSMC and the ideator of the Community Systemic Approach (Abordagem Sistêmica Comunitária - ASC).

MSMC serves, listens, offers therapeutic attention and exposes people in the greater Bom Jardim area to new possibilities, overcoming their internalized poverty. By uniting popular, community and scientific knowledge through social practices that promote self-actualization, MSMC collectively constructs the Community Systemic Approach. This is a multiple impact therapeutic approach that addresses the whole human being, connecting the community, environment and the transcendent in a responsible and transformative manner.
