Brief Biography: 

I am the Founder and Director of Studies of the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Colombo, Sri Lanka that was established in 2007. I am an Honorary Professor of the Faculty of Medical and Legal Sciences, Faculdade do Bico - (Faculdade do Integrada do Bico do Papagaio) - FABIC/FACMED, Brazil. By profession, I am an Educator and a Trainer and also a Counselling Psychologist, a Psychotherapist and a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist apart from being a Certified Human Rights Consultant, a Certified Master Life Coach and a Certified Relationship Coach. I am a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in the UK and a member of the Association for Psychological Science (APS, USA, since 2004), the International Council of Psychologists (ICP, USA), the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP, Canada), and a Member and an Academy Ambassador of The New York Academy of Sciences (NYAS, USA). I am also a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH) in the UK and a Fellow of the British Council for Complementary Therapies (TBCCT) in the UK. I am also an Honorary Fellow of the Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organisation (SUNFO) and a Professional Member of The British Computer Society (BCS) in the UK. Further, I am a Member of the Australian and New Zealand Mental Health Association and I am a Gold Medallist of the Indian Board of Alternative Medicines (IBAM) for contributions in the field of Mental Health.

The IMH is an Accredited Training Provider of the Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH, UK) and an Accredited Training Provider of the International Association of Therapists (IAOTH), Ireland and an Affiliate Organizational Member of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) in the USA. The IMH and all its educational and training courses are recognized Internationally and Accredited with a "5 Star" Grading / Rating by the Global Assessment and Accreditation Council of the International Commission of Diplomatic Relations, Human Rights and Peace (ICDRHRP), California, USA, an Intergovernmental Organization (IGO) registered with Consultative Status in UN-DESA (United Nations - Department of Economic and Social Affairs) and other International organizations. The IMH is also Affiliated with The Canadian Health Sciences Institute (TCHSI), IGO, Canada and is a Member of the International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL), New Zealand.
