Richard Dougherty
Recently retired after thirty five years of consulting experience advising clients across the country on large scale public healthcare systems change to improve quality and increase efficiency. Trained in applied social psychology and social work, I have previous work experience in consulting, social work, government contracting, and finance. My practice allowed me to design and develop large managed behavioral healthcare procurements, develop new strategies for state and local governments, and promote behavioral health financing strategies to support self-direction, recovery support and collective impact. My international work with BasicNeeds US continues to focus on micro-development grants for local communities to promote livelihood development and peer support for people living in poverty and with mental illnesses. I am pleased to currently serve as Treasurer of both the College of Behavioral Health Leadership and of the Community Music Center of Boston.
