Thandi van Heyningen

Thandi is a PhD student at the School of Public Mental Health and Family Medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She is also an Honorary Research Associate at the Perinatal Mental Health Project http://www.pmhp.za.org. The focus of her research is on perinatal mental health, and the development of screening for maternal mental disorders in low-resource, primary care settings. She is also a qualified Clinical Psychologist and is involved in mental health training and advocacy work with community health workers and lay health workers.
