The Global Ministerial Mental Health Summit took place in London from the 9-10th of October and was a landmark event that bought together leaders, policy-makers, mental health experts, innovators and civil society to engage in workstreams and workshops and share the most effective and innovative approaches to mental health and psychosocial disabilities.

Among the many overarching aims of the Summit also included:

  • Catalyzing action around global mental health issues such as early intervention, public health research, tackling stigma and promoting access to evidence-based services.
  • Committing to a global declaration on mental health from political leaders
  • Producing recommendations for continued momentum and action

While the recommendations are for ministers, the declarations summarise the commitments that were made during the landmark event.
