Mapping global practice: healing communities, transforming society
A report by the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation and the War Trauma Foundation.
Building on a long-term partnership aimed at exploring the intereconnectedness between psycho-social needs, practice and peacebuilding, the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation (South Africa) and the War Trauma Foundation (Netherlands) recently conducted an international mapping study.
This report contains a summary of the findings of 75 respondents representing 62 different organisations from around the world, aimed at assessing the extent to which NGOs around the world are currently integrating peacebuilding and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) into their work.
One of the key findings from the survey was that 92% of respondents agreed that interventions aimed at building sustainable peace would benefit from an approach which connects peacebuilding and mental health.
