Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Ebola Virus Disease Outbreaks

This document was prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) for the IASC Reference Group and was reviewed during the ‘Technical Consultation on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support for People Affected by Ebola Virus Disease’ organized by WHO Liberia on 10-11 June 2015. The consultation brought together experts from Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, including 76 participants from Ministries of international and national NGOs, UN agencies, IOM, Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement partners and donor agencies.
This guide provides information to strengthen preparedness and response plans with regards to the mental health and psychosocial consequences of an Ebola virus disease (EVD) outbreak. A French translation is in progress.
